The GRI Awards Europe 2024 will honour real estate industry leaders whose commitment to excellence goes beyond conventional boundaries. These awards represent a tribute to the top developers, investors, and other outstanding organisations active across European real estate.

In this celebration, GRI Club acknowledges projects that transcend the ordinary, elevating construction, architecture, and quality of life. But it's not just technical mastery that's rewarded; the commitment of teams and leadership to positively impact society and the environment by embracing sustainability and corporate responsibility values is also exalted.

Each finalist and winner of these distinctions embodies the pinnacle of quality, transformation, and innovation. Following a meticulous voting process that ensures integrity and fairness in the results, the awards will be presented at the GRI Awards Europe 2024 ceremony to celebrate together and recognise true real estate excellence.

How does the GRI Awards Europe 2024 work?

Who can participate?

Developers, operators, banks, funds, investors, financiers, construction companies, and entities operating in the European real estate sector.

Project Nominations

Nominate a project for free until 7th June to participate in the awards. Nominations can be made by the general public for either their own projects or third-party projects

Top 10 Definition

GRI Club will evaluate each nomination and select up to 10 (ten) projects in each category to proceed to the next stage. The chosen projects will be announced on the official awards channels.

Top 3 Definition

Through open online voting by the public and club members, 3 (three) finalists will be selected for each category. This Top 3 will be announced on the official awards channels.

GRI Awards Ceremony

The overall winners of each category will be announced on the day of the awards ceremony, at an exclusive dinner reserved for GRI Club members and the finalists (Top 3) from each category.

Social Integrated Project of the Year

This category includes companies operating in the European real estate market that have stood out for social work, volunteering, or philanthropic actions.

BTR Project of the Year

Investors or developers competing in this category delivered any residential for-rent real estate project, regardless of its subsegment – economical, medium, or high standard.

Office Reconversion Project of the Year

This category includes investors or developers who reconverted a commercial real estate project (office or corporate floor).

Hotel Project of the Year

Investors or hotel operators competing in this category delivered a greenfield or retrofit real estate project for hotel purposes. The project must have a minimum of 40 rooms.

Industrial & Logistics Project of the Year

Investors or developers competing in this category delivered a greenfield project – such as warehouse, logistic condominium, or Built to Suit – for logistic or industrial use.

Shopping Center Project of the Year

Investors or developers competing in this category delivered a shopping center project (in any of its classifications: power center, strip mall, retail park, outlet, or big box). The project must have a Gross Leasable Area (GLA) equal to or greater than 5 thousand square meters, whether greenfield or expansion.

Diversity & Inclusion Special Recognition

Real estate companies that excel in advancing diversity and inclusion across their workforce, leadership, and community interactions. This award highlights a company that effectively implements inclusive recruitment and retention strategies, actively supports underrepresented groups, and integrates diversity throughout its operations.

Decarbonisation Project of the Year

Companies operating in the real estate market that stood out with projects with notable ESG attributes (environment, social impact, and governance excellence) compete in this category.

Transaction of the Year

The main transactions - purchase and sale of assets - in negotiated volume and estimated average cap rate involving European real estate projects compete in this category. M&As, structuring, or issuances/capital raisings are not eligible.

Impacting Investor of the Year

The most influential and impactful investor in Europe, considering ESG investment-driven projects, and direct and indirect impact in the region/city.

Institutional Investor of the Year

The most influential and impactful institutional investor in Europe, considering transaction volume and portfolio diversification/expansion.

Real Estate Destination of the Year

The most attractive destination (city/municipality) for real estate investment, considering favourable conditions for the private sector, amount of deployed capital and direct positive impact for the local community.

Proptech of the Year

Proptechs competing in this category presented the best solutions for the real estate market, applicable to any of the stages: market research, land acquisition, project, construction, management, and operation.

Refinancing Deal of the Year

The most impacting refinancing lending to a specific real estate project, regardless of the segment. All refinancing sources are eligible, traditional or alternative. Both the lender and the borrower must be mentioned.

Fundraising of the Year

The most impacting and successful project fund raised in the eligible period, regardless of the segment.
