Overview

Brexit, Trump and the increasing power of populist parties in Europe and the Nordics - It feels like the Western world has been swept up by a wave of populism and protectionism. And now, the Chinese/US trade wars foreshadow a global shift to this being the new normal, which, raises the question on how politics will change in the future and what could be consequences for the real estate market?

Available only to our Retreat GRI Club Members, and by invitation only to Real Estate CEOs of substantial property owners, this Retreat Member meeting will address pressing issues concerning populism and the economic markets relating to real estate investment and development strategies.

Topics that will be touched upon:

  • Closed Borders in a Globalised World - How will reverse globalisation influence the markets?
  • Which countries could follow the populist trend next?
  • A Fragmented Europe - Can the Eurozone survive the populist movement?
  • Left vs Right-Wing Populism - Will it make a difference to the economy?
  • Could protectionism increase inflation?
  • Trump and China - Where will the trade war leave us?
  • Economic Nationalism - Us against Them?
