At this in-person gathering, exclusively for members of the GRI Club Advisory Board, we will have as Special Guests Ben Brown, Managing Partner, Head of the Americas & Global Head of Office at Brookfield Properties, and Richard Barkham, Global Chief Economist at CBRE.

In a closed-door setting, we will explore the unique dynamics driving emerging markets, from demographic trends to government regulations, and analyze how industry leaders are addressing inherent challenges, from political volatility to limited infrastructure, with innovation and resilience.

Together, we will discuss how to capitalize on emerging opportunities while mitigating associated risks, building a more robust and prosperous future for the global real estate sector. Following the discussion, attendees will share a networking lunch.

Ben oversees real estate activities in the Americas, including investments and portfolio management, and heads Brookfield’s global office business, managing over 400 properties spanning 180 million square feet worldwide. Joining Brookfield in 2010, he held roles in the U.S. office business and led investments in London and New York. Previously, he worked with New Boston Fund, Sovereign Bank, and Thor Equities. Ben is on the Real Estate Board of New York’s Executive Committee, Board of Governors, and serves on the Boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and Hudson River Park Friends. He holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration (Finance) from Northeastern University and lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children.

Richard is one of the world’s leading real estate economists. He joined CBRE in 2014 as Executive Director and Global Chief Economist. He is based in Boston and, as CBRE’s Global Head of Research, leads a team of 700 researchers worldwide, whilst travelling and speaking extensively on key real estate trends. He is Chairman of CBRE Econometric Advisers a specialist real estate forecasting unit. He has numerous academic and trade press publications to his credit including a highly regarded book called ‘Real Estate and Globalisation’ (Wiley Blackwell, Oxford), which deals with the impact on real estate markets of the rise of emerging markets such as China and Brazil.
