“It's really important to keep innovation moving forward”, says James McEvoy

CEO of Greenman subsidiary, GFORM, discusses innovation in the food retail sector

1 MIN READ September 27, 2023

Written by Helen Richards

On the topic of innovation, James McEvoy, CEO & Managing Director of GFORM, sat down with Gustavo Favaron, CEO & Managing Partner of GRI Club, at this year’s Europe GRI 2023. GFORM is a subsidiary of the Greenman Group managing the Greenman Open portfolio, focused on food dominated retail in Germany.

The food retail market in Germany is at a lower level than in previous years, however as an essential asset class, there is optimism that the end of 2023 will see opportunities and transaction volume pick up.

James explains the importance of future-proofing assets through tenant-landlord alignment, especially with key anchor tenants. The Greenman Open fund is an article 9 fund, and together with ESG gaining relevance, it is increasingly important to innovate in order to support tenant sustainability, and ensure they stay in the assets for a long period of time.
