Colombian Infrastructure Remains Attractive Despite COVID-19

Colombia has one of the most ambitious infrastructure agendas in Latin America and its development was forecasted to boost its GDP in the next year. But the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) may impact more than just development timelines. Colombia has been one of the fastest acting countries in Latin America to establish COVID-19 measures to protect both its citizens, and its economy.
 
But the main question remains unanswered: how long will it last? During the GRI eMeeting The impact of COVID-19 on Colombian Infrastructure Development, industry leaders connected to find out possible answers to these questions. Executives from Egis, Banistmo, Bancolombia, the World Bank, IFC, Sacyr, Credit Agricole, ING, IFC, Inframco, IDB agreed during the discussion that although some infrastructure sectors will take a hit, Colombia remains attractive to investors and when this passes, the sector will regain traction.
