Biography

CEO João Paulo Kleinübing assumed the presidency of the Southern Brazil Development Bank (BRDE) in June 2023. His management is aligned with the purposes of bringing the bank closer to society, through public policies aimed at economic development , social and sustainable, to encourage entrepreneurship, income generation and employment. This expertise is the result of actions as mayor of Blumenau/SC (2005-2012), member of the Chamber of Deputies and the SC State Legislature, and president of Badesc and Eletrosul, and member of the Board of Celesc which gives him extensive knowledge and experience in public management. He holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford and an MSc from LSE.

BRDE was founded on June 15, 1961 by the States of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná, with the aim of making the South of Brazil prosper. Since then, BRDE has been a partner that supports and monitors the development of projects to increase the competitiveness of enterprises of all sizes in the region.
