We caught up with Raimund Paetzmann, VP Corporate Real Estate of Zalando SE, to talk about how the logistics sector has evolved. An often overlooked area, warehousing and light industrial spaces had gone under the radar of investors for decades - that is until e-commerce and urbanisation flung the importance of supply chain and last-mile into our daily lives.

At the launch of the first GRI Light Industrial and Logistics; the leading developers, investors, and financiers of sheds in Europe joined in Amsterdam for two days of collegial discussion, informed debate and networking. Raimund, a corporate real estate professional with 25 years of experience across all sectors, witnessed the boom of logistics and online retail during his 14 year tenure at Amazon Europe. Now at Zalando, he talks to the Hub about some of the structural and operational changes that the sector has gone through over the last two decades.

Taking place after a multitude of sessions which focused on the best ways to minimise unneeded expenditure in all steps of business practice, Raimund then talked a little bit about the ways in which you can optimise cost for build-to-suit projects.

Other senior level real estate decision makers will be discussing business strategy and sharing insight across all asset classes in Germany and Europe at Deustche GRI 2020, taking place in Frankfurt on the 12-13 May, 2020.
