GRI to deliver more student housing insights to its members by BONARD partnering

July 23, 2020Real Estate
GRI, the world’s most prominent real estate investment club and networking platform, and BONARD, a leading data and research provider for the rented residential asset class, team up to provide GRI’s high-profile members with unique asset class data, insights and advice.

London, UK / VIENNA, Austria – With the pandemic impacting many traditional real estate asset classes, the latest data show that most student housing providers remain strong, with reported vacancies in single digits and new bookings gradually returning to pre-Covid numbers.

These indicators underline the long-term resilience of the asset class, which attracts ever higher numbers of investors. In the first half of 2020, global student housing deals and transactions accounted for €10bn. With 800+ residences (comprising over 250,000 beds) in the development pipeline just within Europe and the UK, the estimated construction value of these investments is over €17.5bn.

As a result, GRI, the world’s leading real estate club of over 2,500 C-level professionals, is strengthening coverage of the student housing asset class for its members. The Club has announced the creation of a members-only, global student housing committee for leading industry specialists to meet once a month and discuss the latest developments and topics raised by GRI members. Global student housing committee meetings will be led by leading asset class experts, representing over 30 brands and inviting new members on a regular basis.

In order to enhance the committee’s expertise, GRI has named BONARD, a specialised asset class advisor, as Knowledge Partner for Student Housing.

Gustavo Favaron, CEO of GRI Club: “Our mission is to inspire and foster relationships among real estate leaders within this new progressive asset class. We are therefore pleased to have industry specialist BONARD as our Knowledge Partner. Such partnerships will enable our members to benefit from the global knowledge and expertise backed up by data.”

Samuel Vetrak, CEO of BONARD: “We at BONARD are pleased to become GRI’s Student Housing Knowledge Partner. We are dedicated to empowering conversations with our insights from within the asset class. We take this invitation as a testament to our experience and expertise and will be pleased to share our knowledge with GRI members.”
