Germany’s top real estate leaders gather for the Deutsche GRI 2022

After two years of great uncertainty in the sector, participants are eager to close new deals and find news business opportunities

In its 17th edition, the Deutsche GRI 2022 will be held on the 2nd and 3rd of June, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Frankfurt and will gather close to 200 participants among top senior private equity investors, fund managers, operators, LPs, project developers, asset owners and lenders who actively invest in the German real estate market.

The sessions take place behind closed doors and the discussions will touch on case studies and new insights into the market’s current trends and issues. The roundtable format of the meetings are designed to promote free debate and the sharing of ideas, like an open conversation with peers where everyone is not only allowed to, but encouraged to take part. 

Quality and effective networking is one of the core values of the GRI Club and will be widely encouraged during the two-day conference on several occasions. There will be a total of five networking sessions, three on the first day and two on the last day. During these sessions, members will be able to engage in one-to-one meetings pre arranged by the production team.

What to Expect from the DEUTSCHE GRI 2022?

A diversity of topics discussed by a well-balanced group of executive leaders

To Kick off the conference, Klaus Illigmann will be the keynote speaker for the Future City Landscapes to discuss public & private partnerships. A session on European Investment Cycle, will have Jochen Möbert, Macroeconomist from the Deutsche Bank Research as a special guest, followed by a discussion on innovation in real estate, which will address ESG, tech, A.I. and data-base applications in the sector.

Sessions on alternative financing, regulations and prices & evaluations will be moderated by Dr. Ruprecht Hellauer, Managing Partner at Albulus, Dr. Andreas Otto, Partner and Global Co-Head of Real Estate at CMS Hasche Sigle and Gerhard Meitinger, Head of Real Estate Finance Germany from PBB Deutsche Pfandbriefbank, respectively.

The Net Zero & ESG panel will be moderated by Alexander Piur, Head of Innovation and Sustainability at ING Bank, and the participation of special guest Georg Schattney
Group Head of ESG at Corestate Capital Group.

Michael Peter, CEO of P&P Group will attend the session on the future of retail. When asked about expectations for the event, Peter said he values getting “new information that is essential for our decisions”. 

On the topics he’s eager to see discussed, he believes “Logistics, Light & industrial is certainly a segment that has incredible upward potential” and went on to say “the exchange at this level is certainly exciting and I am interested in how other participants here see this segment and where the opportunities in the market are generally seen”.

Catherine Choo, CIO of Greenman is expected at the Retail in the Digital Information Age panel, where she’ll be sharing some ideas on ESG, vertical farming and the metaverse. This session will be moderated by Greenman’s CEO, Johnny Wilkinson

This year, the Deutsche GRI will hold a total of 21 sessions on both English and German, covering a wide variety of issues concerning the German and European real estate market. After the first day of the event, participants will attend a networking dinner at Via Montenapoleone Restaurant where they will be able to further engage in socializing and enjoy a relaxing time among colleagues.
