Bill Maddux (Greystar) to be keynote speaker at Chile GRI

More than 100 real estate executives are expected for the meeting, which is scheduled for September 11-12, in Santiago.

Bill Maddux, the executive managing director of the Greystar Investment Group, will be the keynote speaker of the 2nd edition of Chile GRI, which is scheduled for September 11 and 12, in Santiago. About 100 executives working on the Chilean real estate market are looking forward to the big meeting, which will discuss perspectives of the local real estate market in an environment conducive to informal interaction and to the identification of partnerships and business.

Maddux will open the program, talking about the potential for new investments in the Chilean real estate market, especially in the residential multifamily segment). Early in the second day, a panel with Andrés Torrealba (Parque Arauco), Cristián Jijena De Solminihac (Vivocorp), Ricardo Hepp De los Ríos (Falabella Inmobiliario), and Tom Livelli (Greystar) will analyze the future of the retail industry in the country, taking into account changes in consumer behavior and strategies to adapt to new trends.

Names of the likes of Francisco Ghisolfo (Credicorp), Rodrigo Guzmán (Ameris Capital), Christian Goebel (GLL Real Estate Partners), Paula Muniz (Hyatt Hotels Corporation), Thait Chang-Say (Armando Paredes) and Rodrigo de la Maza (Compass Group Asset Management) are already confirmed. 

Chilean potential

On the two days, simultaneous discussion rooms will address the main real estate segments in Chile: residential, land development, hotels, shopping and retail, offices, and warehouses. 

Topics will include issues such as the growth potential of affordable housing; the impacts of the expansion of e-commerce on retail and logistics warehouses, as well as the necessary optimization of the last mile; opportunities in new formats, such as mixed-use, coworking, senior living, student housing and micro living; the horizon for varied hotel niches; and effects of technological advances on the real estate business.
