Throughout 2019, legislative changes brought new perspectives to the relationship between public-private partnerships (PPPs) and concessions in Brazil. In this eBook, GRI Club features the main changes that came into effect in the first year of president Jair Bolsonaro’s administration and of a new composition in Congress – such as Act 13,842/2019, of the opening of the airline sector, and Decree 9,957/2019, which regulates re-bidding of transport sector contracts –, and those that are expected to mark 2020 and the other two years of the presidential and legislature term.

Among the projects under discussion on the country’s legislative agenda are new regulations for the electricity, natural gas, and basic sanitation sectors and the proposal for a new General Concessions Law (LGC).
