Biography

Marcelo Girão is a Managing Director and head of Project Finance at Banco Itaú BBA. With more than 23 years of experience, Mr. Girão has a large track record in advising clients and project financing. He has participated in more than 25 GW in power generation, 10,000 Km of transmission lines and several infrastructure projects (toll roads, airports, w&s, etc). The aggregated CAPEX of those projects is over BRL 150 billion. Previously to Itaú BBA, Marcelo spent 5 years at Banco Votorantim, other 6 years at Itaú Unibanco, and 1 year at Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Marcelo holds a degree in computer engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica – ITA, and a master’s degree in economics and finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (on going).
