Italia GRI 2018Milan, 5 - 6 June

Overview

Investment in Italy’s real estate market offers a double-edged sword.

On one hand, Milan is bearing testament to the many glorious opportunities Italy can offer to savvy investors, with a steady and high-value deal flow that has encouraged liquidity. On the other hand, the political pendulum of change is swinging all too frequently to foster long term confidence in the market. Rome is almost absent from the table and secondary locations are seldom chosen despite yield attractiveness.

With such a contradicting dynamic of nationwide woes vs. Milan’s success, we need to ask ourselves just how are all Italian cities going to compete on the global stage in the long term? Is Milan a gateway to finding nirvana in other locations or a gatekeeper of capital that ultimately might overheat and collapse?
