Jean-Philippe Olgiati, MD, is responsible for BlackRock’s RE business in Continental Europe. He is a member of the European Real Estate Executive Committee. Mr Olgiati service with the firm dates back to 2008, including his years with MGPA, prior to its acquisition by BlackRock in 2013. Over the past eight years he has been involved in the acquisition of more than 90,000 sqm of office space in Continental Europe, has led successful projects such as Le Madeleine, a 32,000 sqm mix use property located in Paris CBD. Mr Olgiati also led the dispositions of more than 225,000 sqm of office, retail and logistics assets, in France, Italy, Poland and Germany. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr Olgiati worked for Bouygues Construction.

Prior to this, he was in charge of RE acquisitions in France for the Peabody Funds, co-managed by JPMorgan and the O’Connor Group. Previously, he worked for Arthur Andersen, Unibail and Deutsche Bank.

Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Ron was a MD with Fortress Investment Group, responsible for commercial property and special situations investing in Europe. Before moving to Frankfurt in 2004, he was a founding partner of Aetos Capital, a real estate private equity fund investing in Japanese assets. He lived in Tokyo for five years, and helped develop Morgan Stanley’s Asian Special Situations Group, doing proprietary investing in distressed debt. His experience also includes working in New York at Merrill Lynch in distressed loan trading and at TIAA/CREF in real estate portfolio management.

Henri Alster is the Chairman of the GRI. He previously worked for 25 years as a real estate investment banker, advising or partnering with the likes of Exxon, Whitehall, KLM pension funds, Forest City Enterprises and others across the USA and Europe. He also ran his own investment boutique.

Mr. Alster led Citicorp’s early real estate investment banking efforts in Europe between 1988 and 1994, closing Europe’s two largest land deals on behalf of Exxon and Pechiney.

A Columbia B-School MBA (‘74), Henri is an undergraduate Technion (Israel) Industrial Engineer (‘72). 

He is fluent in English, French, German, Dutch and Hebrew, has lived in New York, Paris, London, Brussels and Tel-Aviv and has worked and travelled extensively throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe.
