Distressed Deals & Opportunistic, Value Add
Bottom hit, ready for risk?
- Geographical Differentiations - Countries with more cases, longer lockdowns, reliance on hospitality & service for economy will see distressed opportunities emerging & investors are already preparing VS less infections, quick gov reactions and strong fiscal/monetary support will see distressed assets in the longer run should certain assets become obsolete but not too many bankruptcies & distressed assets in the immediate future (Portugal, Spain, Italy VS Germany, CEE)
- More and more companies will delay & default their credits as businesses go bankrupt opening up distressed opportunities
- What are key considerations to keep in mind when making allocation in distressed assets?
- Portfolio diversification
- Working with Lenders - Financing available or Private Equity only? (most lenders are currently only financing existing clients and few within distressed realm)
