GRI Hospitality eSummit 2020
8th - 10th December
Over the last decade, the global hotel industry demonstrated resilience and continuous growth, increasing its attractiveness among investors. Nevertheless, 2020’s Coronavirus pandemic destabilized the hospitality value chain, leaving operators and developers gasping for liquidity in only a couple of months. COVID-19 has accelerated consumer and technological trends, pushing industry players to innovate and find creative solutions to their assets to overcome the quarantines. But as the second wave reactivates lockdowns and restrictions around the world, a question remains: when will hotels be able to reopen to full capacity?

Join the global GRI Club to discuss such challenges and opportunities through candid peer-to-peer discussions. Navigate the current challenges presented by the Coronavirus recovery and changing real estate demands, especially cash flow, maintaining liquidity and landlord/tenant partnerships. Engage with C-level hospitality real estate leaders on what the post-Coronavirus world of hospitality might look like and what opportunities this might open up for buy/sell and repositioning.

Participation in this event is by invitation only. If you would like to join our members please submit your interest here.

Hospitality’s Survival of the Fittest
Rethinking Assets, Operations and Trends
  • Macro trends and Hospitality: What are they and how will they play out in the hospitality industry?
  • Technology & Innovation: What role does it play in adapting to the new markets and how much is being invested?
  • Urban Regeneration: How are cities and tourist destinations transforming and how is hospitality adapting?
  • Rethinking Operation models: What’s the right operating model and what improvements can be made?
  • Resilience & Sustainability: ESG’s importance and role in the hospitality industry
December 10 | 15:00 - 16:00 | (GMT + 0)
Investing in Hospitality Post-COVID
New Rules & Opportunities for 2021
  • Transaction Volume: With low volume since COVID-19, when will cash-trapped owners have to sell? What role will Governmental and bank support play?
  • Impact on Pricing: Large amount of equity raised for hotels but less financing, will there be money available but more expansive?
  • Operator / Owner Relationship: Crisis creates the opportunity for brands to recuperate independent hotels, is there appetite to provide more owner friendly contracts?
  • Transaction type: Development vs rebranding/conversion of existing assets?
  • Asset type: City hotels vs Resorts vs MICE

Welcome to WiH Global (‘WiH’): #StrongerTogether

We are a not-for-profit and best-in-class global community who believe that by collaborating, we can have greater impact and raise the game to create a hospitality industry that is more diverse and inclusive. Bring your best self and together we will raise the game.

Mc Lean | VA | USA
Back in 1993, when Founder, Chairman, and CEO Bob Faith set out to build Greystar, he saw a highly fragmented multifamily industry that was more focused on assets than people. He envisioned the need for an industry leader, a blue-chip company that operated with the highest integrity and character in delivering world-class services to residents, property owners and investors in multifamily real estate. He said, “Why not us? Let’s go be that company.” With a winning strategy and a focus on people, Greystar set out to meet that need -- guided by the mission of enriching the lives of those we touch by doing things the right way. Greystar has learned what’s important to people when it comes to a place to call home and the services that enhance the living experience. And that’s why we put our heart and soul into providing beautiful living environments.
