Overview

On March 20, the GRI Club Infra will host its first meeting of China-LATAM Think Tank, a joint initiative with Belt & Road Service Connections (BNRSC) and the law firm L.O. Baptista Advogados, to discuss The B&R Initiative; a Chinese government initiative focused at rebuilding the old silk trade route and promoting business agreements between the two countries, whose transaction volume is estimated by the Chinese government at 1.2 trillion dollars. The program involves investments in infrastructure and has been expanding to Latin America.

The meeting, which will take place simultaneously in China through a real-time connection, will focus on the main characteristics of the initiative, its legal framework, requirements and how the expansion of the initiative can affect Latin American countries.

From the Brazilian side, the new perspectives of the Bolsonaro government will also be discussed with government representatives responsible for the strategic relationship with China.
