Digitilisation - it fuelled the growth of online retail, it changed the way we view the high street and it fundamentally shifted consumer demand and expectations for shopping.

For better or for worse, when it comes to retail assets across Europe, investors cannot ignore the impact that technology, changing consumer behaviours and demands will have on their strategies. Shopping centres, retail parks, mixed use schemes, logistics, warehouses and grocery stores are facing a new and very present reality - reinvention or extinction?

Europe club members will discuss innovation, disruption, the models and the top locations to protect and advance their retail real estate portfolios.

Simon joined Tesco in 1995, working in the Property Management, Store Extensions and non-food development fields. In 2007, he was appointed Director for Convenience and led the SE Superstores team as the business focus on the rapid expansion of the Express format. In March 2011, Simon was appointed to the Group Property Team as Director of Acquisitions and Asset & Estates where he led work on Global blueprints for Acquisitions performance & structures and the strategic tenant partnerships across CE and Asia. In September 2013, he moved to China to take up the role of Chief Operating Officer of the Tesco China Property Company and led its integration into a joint venture with China Resources Holdings. Simon now fills the role of International Mall Director with direct accountability for Tesco’s 419 malls in Europe and supports our Asian Mall teams including our JV in China.

When I launched Street Feast back in 2012 it was with the intention of inspiring a vibrant night market culture in London. Having seen night markets across the world from Barbados to Zanzibar, I knew we could create something special in a city like London.

Animating and transforming empty spaces across the city has been an important part of our process, taking care to create environments that become a viable alternative to being in a pub or restaurant. Over the years we've taken over car parks, breweries, warehouses, old tube stations and builders merchants to create one of London's most innovative and popular contemporary food and drink events.

With Dalston Yard, Dinerama, Hawker House and Model Market, we have four sites across London with more in the pipeline. A typical night at Street Feast will see thousands of people come through to enjoy a selection of the city's best street food traders, leading chefs and restaurants, and drink cocktails, craft beer and great wine.
